After lots a long lockdown period, the domestic flights are ready to fly again. But there are some new rules and regulations are also apply. Web check-in, Sensitization, Mask, Face Shield, etc. are one of them. I will discuss this below.

Planning to visit Vellore

During this year, October, me and my parents planned to go to CMC Vellore for medical checkup. But we scared about the COVID 19 and the sudden lockdown. As we all know, that the government may impose lockdown any time to stop spreading this virus. If this happens, then we may stay Vellore for an uncertain period.

After lots of planning and discussions, the decision came out as we go to Vellore on 21 October. Then I start collecting information about the current condition. I found that we can go to Vellore. So, now its time to book a flight. But one thing let you know that this is my first time on a flight.

Flight booking for the first time

If you want to book a flight ticket, then you can book online without any difficulty. There are some websites which can provide this service. MakeMyTrip, Yatra, Goibibo, Flipkart, Paytm, etc. but I booked on MakeMyTrip. But you should check every flight booking websites because the prices are different.

Now the question is that which is the best airlines to fly during covid?

Look, every flight are ready to give their best service. But we should do some research on this topic. And in my case, I found that Indigo airline does proper sanitization. So, I book three tickets to Chennai.

Web Check-in

How to do Web Check-in? Web Check-in is also known as 'Online Check-in'. Every passenger must do his/her/their web check-in before his travel as per the new guidelines. Web check-in is free if you did between 48 hours and 60 min before the flight. Otherwise a facilitation fee of Rs. 100 for airport check-in. After web check-in, you need to select your seat. For that, you need to pay a certain amount for the seats. And the prices are different. Some free seats are also available.

The Health Declaration Form also need to fill up and take a print out or PDF on mobile to produce in the airport. Baggage Tags are not mandatory.

e-Pass for Chennai

Every passenger must have an e-Pass for Tamil Nadu. You need to fill up every detail they want. And no need to take a print out. Instead of that, you can show PDF on your smartphone. Here is the link https://eregister.tnega.org/.

Experience in airport

After we reached Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, I experienced some new things. These will discuss below. So, one thing I want to inform you that please bring your valid id proof. Driver Licence, Aadhar Card, Pan Card or any other Government-issued photo identification.

A CISF Personnel asked to show our IDs along with flight tickets in the main entrance gate. Then we go to Indigo airline counter and show our web check-in, IDs, and e-pass.

After that, the receptionist asks to weight our luggage. As per rule, we can carry up to only 7 kgs each. The luggage more than 7 kgs, goes to luggage storage of our flight. After this process, we go to our gate number where our flight will park.

But this time, proper checking process has done. Our hand beg, wallet, watch, belt, mobile, etc. are go through an X-ray machine. Remember that you can't bring some goods with you in the cabin.

READ THIS.

After verification, we are seating near our gate number waiting for our turn. A few moments later, an air hostage calls every passenger to collect PPE kits. They provide Face Shield, Mask, Sanitiser. And for the middle passenger, they provide a white dress.

Then we get on the flight and search our seats. Two air hostages explain the instructions. Then we are fasting our seat belt and ready to take off.

After the flight takeoff, air hostages came to serve foods. But one thing needs to remember that if we are not pre-booking our meals, then we can't have it. Only coffee, tea, cookies, etc. can have after paying on the flight.

After the flight landed on Chennai International Airport. An air hostage announced that we need to collect our luggage at Baggage Claim No. 4. Then we collect it from there.

So, this is the story of my first experience. I hope you like it.
